Chris Opened Another Channel Years Ago and Seems He's Trying to Bring It Back

Wow, a new post this soon? Even I'm surprised.

Long time fan Harrod brought this up. Seems in May 2015, Chris created another channel, and many pieces start fitting together.
First some backstory. Sometime from either 1968 to 1974 (the date is unclear scoping through Wikipedia), there was an educational TV show called "The Letter People". It was all about teaching kids the letters of the Roman alphabet with puppets. Very Sesame Street but obviously not as popular.
Then in May 2015, Chris created this YouTube channel.
You may notice it has a different name, but the early videos outright say they are The Letter People. Now he seems to be going with The Alphabet Bunch. Oh so now you're afraid of getting sued?

Going through these, there's not much to say. Just low-budget, boring shorts showcasing things that start with certain letters. If you've ever seen Sesame Street, or any educational program at the age of 3 or 4, then you get the idea.
The majority of the videos were posted in 2015. The eighth video at the beginning of 2016. Then... nothing for two years.
But then two weeks ago he posted the ninth video out of nowhere. In the comment he brings up "school curriculums". What? Are you making this crap for a school? Is that your job now?
And three days ago he posted a new one, this one featuring Zombie Steve... so is he trying to synergize his two shows? He must be because over on the Puppet Steve channel, Alphabet Bunch is listed as a Featured Channel under the barely functioning Zombie Steve channel (don't recall if I mentioned this but he made separate channel for solo Zombie Steve videos).
Of course the latest video is the worst, since it's more of Chris' fetish for showing off all his toys.
Oh yeah, and that "Mr. M" puppet? He was reused for the very very very early Puppet Steve videos where the hosts were actually "Marty and Muffin". And yes, a talking muffin is part of these early videos too. That explains a lot.

Chris, what are you doing? Is this your attempt at popularity? I don't think doubling down on the kid shit will do it. You're not good at education either.
You really want to know the secret to popularity? Go into a forest and find a real dead body, then film it and post it online for kids to see. Then go on a crocodile-tear filled apology tour and then make a video where you use a taser on dead animals. Kids really dig that shit.

I don't know. I have no idea what Chris is doing, it's clear he has no direction. All the ghost hunting crap didn't work out. I mean this is the second time too, he admitted it didn't work out the first time, and he tried it again. Blah blah definition of insanity blah.

Oh forgot to mention, but this channel is listed on The Letter People's Wikipedia page. Considering how almost nobody knows about this, I have to imagine that Chris himself added that section.  See the page right here. Here's an archive link in case the page gets edited.

Oh yeah, the first video on the channel actually mentions a site. http://letterpeoplemedia.com/ Go ahead and check it out, you might be in for a surprise.

  1. The first teaser video on this channel was published on May 15th, 2015. This almost perfectly lines up to Chris announcing he was dropping to just two videos per week (He had first promised 3 videos per week but that was unsustainable for him.)

Chris would go on to release a handful of videos on this channel while still producing content for Irate Gamer and working on Ghost Hunting 2.0.

I am wondering if his girlfriend (now wife) and her children prompted Chris to go into this direction? It was clear that Chris realized that the IG channel was a sinking ship, thus all the shill videos. He may have decided to do a more kid friendly channel after he began his relationship with the girlfriend.

Did Chris have ideas to get crowdfunding for the Alphabet Bunch? The reason that crosses my mind is the Opening Up video where Chris mentioned education as one of the positives of Kickstarter. "Education always comes first in my mind." That could have been a way for him to get crowdfunding while dodging the claims of hypocrisy.

  2. By the way, the Wikipedia entry was made by a user known as BigRedMonster86. I have no idea who that is but judging from the contribution history, I'd say this person has an interest in a number of older TV shows: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Contributions/BigRedMonster86

  3. I have heard of the Letter People before-- the TV station that produced it, KETC, St. Louis' PBS affiliate, featured it in their 50th anniversary special years ago. And it's been brought up on Muppet Central quite a bit.

FTR, here's a clip featuring Monty Swell, their rather snarky equivalent to Guy Smiley.

  4. I just watched the video about the letter M. He just has to do food references in all of his videos, doesn't he?

    1. I'd rather watch THIS video about the letter M. And that one's just as bad.

    2. My hearing is a little impaired atm so I could be wrong about this, but does anyone else think Zombie Steve suddenly sounds like Cookie Monster with a bad Mexican accent?

    3. Zombie Steve doesn't mesh with my memories of Cookie Monster. However, Zombie Steve was a little more articulate than usual this time. Unfortunately, Chris only used him for the character's regular schtick - eating toys.

I did find it ironic that Chris neglected to use Minecraft toys for a video about the letter M.

    4. There was a free ghost hunt event at the Collingwood Arts Center last night. Not sure if Bores was one of the hosts or not. He has been silent about it and he usually boasts about his ghost hunting stuff so I assume he and the CAC have indeed parted ways.

    5. I think Zombie Steve sounds more like a bad imitation of Super Mecha Death Christ more than Cookie Monster, if you ask me!

  5. One month until TMK is released. Semi-favorable response on Facebook in regard to early promotion.

  6. The food references in this case come from the original character, not from Chris himself. That's what the whole original gimmick was. It's the toy references that Chris inserted.

  7. At this point, I don't think he has any sense of direction on what he wants to do on the Internet. To be honest, he could have went with the Irate Gamer schtick, just acknowledge, un-burn bridges, and there you go!

For Minecraft Steve, suffice to say that it'll take some special skill or insane luck to be a "kid-friendly" channel. I mean those Elsa and Spiderman channels that garnered BILLIONS of views. Exactly how still baffles me.

The guy probably just need more social skills. He really, really need to stop isolating himself from others. On YouTube, collaboration and cameos will bring you up.

  8. Why does he have a link to this blog? Is he ashamed of the Irate Gamer now?

    1. The first video mentioned that site. However, Chris being an idiot, did not register the domain. So someone registered it and made it redirect here. They simply told me about it so I linked it here.

    2. I figured that's why the link redirected to this blog. I assume that was the "surprise", correct?

  9. So for the next few days I'm my company has me working at the home office. My lunch break is starting now and some coworkers are talking about going to a restaurant right by the second-hand bookstore where that I gave Bores's book to. Maybe I'll swing by and see if it's still on the shelf.

    2. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Nobody wants the book. How poetic.

    3. Not surprised. The book has zero reviews on Barnes & Noble, 1 review on GoodReads. There hasn't been a review on Amazon for over a year and the most recent one complained that Chris never sent her free DVD. He even lowered the price of the Kindle version to $4.99 and there has been no movement. I can't find any recent talk about the book on social media. I can't even find a pirated version on LG. Think about that - nobody even wants to pirate it!

    4. Partially the bookstore's fault, they have a $4 price tag on it.

  10. This blog is hilarious, the guy isn't even relevant anymore and yet you still keep talking about him with such a blinding rage that I'm honestly starting to think you're autistic. Hell, maybe the other people who still care about the Irate Gamer enough to comment on here are autistic as well.

Seriously dude, go get a job, go study, get a girlfriend, I dunno, but this is sad and funny at the same time.

    1. Honestly, it's not even about Chris anymore for me. I keep coming here because I like the discussion in the comments. I also don't hate Chris as a person. If I ever decide to create Internet videos regularly, I'll look at his career as a helpful "what NOT to do" guide.

    2. Are you sure Chris is irrelevant? He told us that he created a new branch of psychology. That is a pretty big deal. He is still very active on YouTube with a channel that has over 200k subscribers. Your post shows that you do not understand what autism really is.

    3. @itsmrben
Fair enough, he definitely is a guide on how to not make videos.

      @Edge XL
That's just IG trying to get some spotlight again, if he actually did create a new branch of psychology, that would have generated a much bigger buzz, also I just checked the channel and his sub-to-view ratio is pretty abysmal.

Actually I do understand what autism is, and being so obsessive with something is a fairly common trait of autistic people. Imagine dedicating almost 9 years to hating some dude who makes crappy video game reviews on the internet, even when most people hardly give a shit about him nowadays.

    4. Well, Allan, so far you have devoted nearly 200 words on a blog post about someone you deem irrelevant. Perhaps you have a condition? :)

Be that as it may, what you describe is not necessarily autism. People who actually understand autism know that the condition can cause many symptoms that also apply to other mental states. You also mention "blinding rage" which does not seem to apply. I have yet to see anybody post here who exhibited rage, let alone be blinded by said rage.

You should not assume that because this blog has existed for nine years that is all the author has done. Indeed, if you look at the archives you can see he created 11 posts for all of 2017 - less than one post per month on average. Even the busiest year for this blog amounted to just a little over one post per week.

  11. On the subject of Logan Paul, would y'all agree that he's much worse than Chris Bores?

    1. I've never watched a Logan Paul video but my understanding is he explored the suicide forest and left in footage of a hanging dead person he found there. That is not too far removed from the insensitivity Bores showed to Jewario and Leonard Nimoy. However, I also understand that Logan Paul took a taser to dead rats which is appalling. To the credit of Chris Bores, he has never resorted to that.
